Samhain – Halloween – All Saint’s – All Soul’s Day 2022

Samhain to All Soul’s Day, the turning of the wheel of the year between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice.  This is a time when the veils between the worlds are thin.  Great Horned Owl talks and hoots for over an hour in the evening outside our home. In the early morning a flurry of Black-capped Chickadees, Rosy Finches, titmice, warblers, small songbirds, flit quickly between the branches of the maple tree.

This season is a time to give thanks that we are still alive, to give thanks to all our ancestors, mentors, and guides over the years.  Autumn is a time to offer gratitude for all those who have gifted and supported is on the journey, all human and sentient beings, animals, birds, plants, flowers, trees, and stones. I am thankful for those who lighten my path, offer hope with playfulness and delight, ways to see life in a brighter light in the midst of our current shadow of polycrisis.   Beyond our collective sorrows, the bright celestials are always shining, the Milky Way, the great Star Road, stars for our soul’s journey home.

Gratitude enkindles light -
poetry & art for the journey when it is cloudy,
the stars are still shining
